I ran

I ran.

Like I always have.
-----------------------

I don’t remember if you were with me or not,

I don’t know if it was morning or the dark,

I just ran and ran too far,

Till it all started to disappear in the past.

Driven by the hate with nowhere to turn,

I felt the burn, the warmth and the sun.

To taste the poison,

I never had to go too far.

Indulged in your temptation,

I sail on a sinking ark.

Till we drown in passion

And forget the truth.

What’s real and what’s a dream,

Blurred lines conceal.

At the edge of our memories,

We may find each other again.

In desperation and contempt,

We may excite each other again.

But the time is not now,

Not tomorrow, nor soon.

Because now I’ve come too far,

Troubled and desolate.

 I run.

Away from it all.
